September is the new January. How to plan 110 days of development before the end of 2025?
1. 2024/2025 review and choosing what really matters
Start with a brief review of the previous months. Ask yourself: what have you already achieved? What needs improvement? Where did you encounter difficulties? This analysis will help you choose your priorities for the end of the year and avoid repeating mistakes. Focus on a maximum of three areas – for example, improving your digital skills, developing leadership, improving personal effectiveness, implementing a healthy habit or preparing for an exam.
2. The 110-day method – micro-goals and an action plan
Once you have determined your direction, treat the last four months of the year as a development sprint. Each month is one micro-goal, and each week is a specific step towards achieving it. If you want to improve your business English, you can revise your grammar in September, focus on conversation in October, practise writing emails in November, and review your progress and plan the next steps in December.
‘Four months is a period that allows for real change – provided you are disciplined and consistent. The key is to choose one direction and take small steps systematically. It's not an endless marathon, but a short sprint that gives immediate results and motivation for the future,’ emphasises Kamila Izdebska, Head of BPP Professional Education in Poland.
3. Technologies and habits that support development
Technology can be your ally in this process. Task management applications such as Notion, Trello, and Asana will help you break down your goals into weekly stages. E-learning platforms will provide access to knowledge whenever you need it. However, daily rituals are key – even if it's just 20 minutes of learning a day, keeping notes with reflections, or a weekly review of your progress.
‘We go hand in hand with technology, and a few years ago we gave our clients access to BPP Hub – a central place where they can use courses, educational materials, notes and lecture recordings. It is also a space where they can ask questions, receive support and exchange experiences on forums,' adds Kamila Izdebska.
4. September as an advantage
Starting your activities in September gives you an advantage – while most people wait until January with their ambitious plans, you can already start building new habits and developing your skills. This will allow you to enter 2026 with a sense of satisfaction and readiness for new challenges.
Remember that 110 days is not just a symbolic period ‘until the end of the year’, but a real opportunity to do something important for yourself. All you need is the courage to set priorities and the consistency to act every day. September is the best time to start.
